We are thrilled to announce that the PSR Tutorial website and PSR Tutorial Forum, beloved by Yamaha keyboard enthusiasts, will not be closing. Instead, it will continue to grow and develop, ensuring that this invaluable resource remains available to all its users.
What's happened ?
Earlier in 2024, Joe Waters, the long-time administrator of the PSR Tutorial website, announced that the website would be shutting down by October 2024. Around the same time, the forum’s administrator, Roger Brenizer, declared the closure of the PSR Tutorial Forum due to serious technical issues and software incompatibility. For more details about this, you can refer to this informative article.
However, there’s no need to worry! Both the PSR Tutorial website and PSR Tutorial Forum have been saved and will continue to serve Yamaha keyboard lovers across the globe.
PSR Tutorial: Ownership Transfer
We are excited to announce that Joe Waters has officially transferred ownership of the PSR Tutorial website, complete with its full database, copyrights, and domain name, to PsrStyles.com. This also includes the transfer of the PSR Tutorial Forum, ensuring that the rich legacy of the site will continue.
Our team at PsrStyles.com consists of Yamaha keyboard enthusiasts, much like Joe Waters and Roger Brenizer were. We share the same passion and dedication, and we’re committed to maintaining and expanding the PSR Tutorial resources, so there’s no reason for concern. The site and forum are now under new management, but the community remains at the heart of everything we do.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
For those who have submitted materials such as MP3 or MIDI Songs, Styles, Software, or other resources to the PSR Tutorial site, please rest assured that the property rights remain yours. All user-generated content is safely stored and protected.
Some contributors donated their content, and the copyrights to those materials have been transferred to PsrStyles.com and PsrTutorial.com.
All materials—whether text, graphics, logos, or digital files—are now under the care of the new ownership, ensuring continuity and protection for all submissions. More detailed information on copyright matters will be made available on PsrTutorial.com soon.
PSR Tutorial Forum Restored!
After much effort and dedication, we are delighted to announce that the PSR Tutorial Forum has been fully restored! Former members and new participants alike can once again engage in vibrant discussions about Yamaha keyboards and music production.
The forum will now be overseen by Alex Mercer, a seasoned expert with over 30 years of experience in music, Yamaha keyboards, and software development. Alex, along with a team of experienced administrators, will ensure that the forum remains an active and valuable space for keyboard enthusiasts. Although Roger Brenizer has stepped down from managing the forum due to age and deteriorating health reasons, his legacy lives on through the community he helped build.
If you have any suggestions, feedback, or advice on how we can improve the forum, please visit our dedicated Forum Comments and Suggestions section. Our team is eager to hear from you and will consider all your comments.
The Future of the PSR Tutorial Website
While Joe Waters will no longer manage the PSR Tutorial website, we want to assure all members that the website will continue to operate and be regularly updated. We’re committed to expanding this resource, staying true to the vision Joe Waters established. In the coming months, you can expect:
- New content: More tutorials, free styles, songs, and valuable materials for Yamaha keyboard users.
- Design overhaul: We are working on a complete redesign of the site, aiming to modernize the look and enhance functionality. Although the current design has served us well, it’s time for a refresh. Rest assured, all existing content will remain available throughout this transition and after updates.
- New features: We plan to introduce new sections and features that will enrich the user experience and provide more value to our community.
You can stay updated on the latest changes and developments on PSRTutorial.com, PsrStyles.com, and the PSR Tutorial Forum.
Commitment to a Non-Commercial Resource
As per our commitment to the legacy of Joe Waters, PSR Tutorial will continue as a non-commercial resource. Joe added features like an order section and donation buttons to keep the site running due to the significant financial demands of maintaining such a large and popular platform.
While we are exploring the possibility of reinstating the order section and accepting donations, we promise to remain user-focused. If we decide to introduce advertisements, they will be minimal and unobtrusive. Our goal is to ensure the community remains the core focus.
For those who choose to support the site, we may open exclusive sections "Charter Boards" of the forum and provide access to premium content as a token of appreciation. This aligns with how Joe Waters and Roger Brenizer operated the site previously. If you have suggestions, we encourage you to share them in this forum discussion.
PSR Performers: Update Your Pages
We invite all PSR Performers to update their pages. If you want to add or remove songs, or create a new page, feel free to Contact Us. The copyright of your MP3 and MIDI Songs remains with you, and you can safely submit new materials without concern.
Additionally, we’re excited to announce that after our website’s global update, new features will be added to the PSR Performers section. You’ll be able to create your own portfolio with more flexibility and new customization options. Stay tuned for more details soon!
Style Files, Expansion Packs, and Other Files
We encourage community members who create non-commercial styles, expansion packs, or other Yamaha arranger keyboard files to share them with us. We will gladly upload them to the PSR Tutorial website. In the future, we plan to introduce a feature that allows users to upload materials directly to the site themselves, making the sharing process even easier. As mentioned earlier, rest assured all copyrights will belong to the owner or creators of the materials.
Software Developers: Share Your Utilities
If you are a software developer and want to share your software or applications related to Yamaha keyboards, we’d love to create a page dedicated to your tools in the Utilities section. This will give you the opportunity to showcase your software and introduce it to a wide audience of Yamaha keyboard users. Contact Us for more information.
Conclusion: Join the Community!
Dear members, users, and Yamaha keyboard enthusiasts, we invite you to join the PSR Tutorial community and stay connected. The PSR Tutorial website and PSR Tutorial Forum are alive and well, and we welcome new members every day. Whether you’re an experienced performer, a beginner, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you in our vibrant community.
Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to invite your friends to join us. Exciting new features and pleasant surprises are on the way, and we look forward to continuing the legacy of PSR Tutorial for years to come.
We wish you all the best in your musical journey!
